Best Bubble Mix

Lots and lots and lots and lots of people ask us "how do you make your bubble mix"?

The truth is we spent quite a lot of time and money on making a bubble mix that would blow huge bubbles ... and .... we failed....

We reckon in New Zealand the formula has changed over the years to make washing up liquid more environmentally friendly.  This is fantastic but not so great for blowing big bubbles.

We use this stuff - Beeboo Bubble Mix.  Basically it rocks.

We also get asked about our bubble wand.  We did make this ourselves ...

The tray is a pot plant drip tray.  The handle is from a paint roller.  The ring is made out of an embroidery hop.  We joined the ring and handle together with one-way cable ties.  You can also bend a old knitting needle so it runs down the handle and runs along side a bit of the hoop.  If you do this before securing with the cable ties it make the whole thing a lot more sturdy.  The final step is to wrap some rope around the hoop.  This 'holds' the bubble mix.

It works pretty well...

We have been visiting lots and lots of kindergartens recently with 'The Wonderful World of Bubbles Show' for early childhood centres. Most kindys are addicted to bubbles and the word on the street is that this is the stuff to buy at the moment ...

Budget Brand PINK dish washing liquid from Pak n' Save. Apparently the pink stuff works best. Some kindys are not even diluting it - just going with the straight stuff and getting good bubbles. Have you tried it??? We would love to know how big your bubbles are!
